I have had this chair for quite some time. I loved its bones and the detail work on it. It also had a rich brown color to it so I knew I wanted to pull that back through the paint.
I had painted it in a white color with a different paint before I discovered Maison Blanche. I kind of gave up on it because it was still going to need another coat to completely cover it.
While I was working another piece with Maison Blanche in Hurricane I decided to go ahead and brush some on over the white. It only needed one coat since I knew I was going to distress it. After distressing with a medium grit sanding block, I decided to add some dark wax to richen the colors a bit.
Here is a close-up of her. Then I went and found some fabric for the seat and recovered it which was quite easy!
This chair does have a sister. I just need to decide if I am going to paint it the same way and make these a pair or if I should do something different with the other. Time will tell. This chair is still currently available at Consign to Design. Come check it out. Thanks for looking!
