Maison Blanche La Craie Coming Very Very Soon!

Very Very soon I will be the Knox, Loudon and Blount County stockiest for Maison Blanche Chalk Paint, also known as La Craie.

La Craie has been carefully refined and perfected to the last drop. It has been specially formulated for painting furniture, cabinetry, and trim. Silky and smooth, the paint can be applied using a variety of techniques in addition to ‘straight from the can’. It can also be used to top off any existing furniture finish, without the need for stripping, sanding, or priming. La Craie will adhere to most surfaces. Add a bit of water and try it as a color wash. If you prefer your paint a bit thicker, simply leave the lid off for awhile. Use one color or layer several. Finish and protect with La Cire wax.

Yellow Painted Dresser

I have finally finished the third piece to this set.  It is long over do!  The set includes this dresser and a matching mirror that attaches to the back.  Also has matching large, tall chest of drawers and night stand.  These pieces are great quality furniture!  I had to refinish a few areas on each piece and then I added some glazing to give it a little more character, not that it needed it…it is yellow after all 🙂

I very much wanted to keep this for my oldest daughters room but have yet to decide how I am going to decorate her room…

The tall chest and night stand are already in the shop and I forgot to take pics before they were sent up there.  I will try and get u there this week and add the pics so you can see the set.  I think its pretty cool!

Here are some close ups of the piece.

And another…

Gray and White Painted Coffee Table

I have a funny story behind this $10 craigslist coffee table. I had my mom pick it up for me as it is much easier for her to get around town then it is for me with two babies.  Anyway she got soooo lost trying to find the place and I felt pretty bad.  When she got it home and my dad noticed that one of the legs had two huge bolts on the outside.  I’m guessing it broke and this was someones remedy of fixing it.  We had a laugh about the fact that my mom didn’t even notice. We were thankful we only spent $10.
So at that point I knew I didn’t really want to paint it for the shop so it sat around for a little while.
I was given some samples from a chalk paint distributor and new I dint have enough paint to paint it all one color.  Nor could I find a different piece of furniture in my inventory small enough to cover the entire piece with two small jars of paint so I decided to use my samples on this cute little coffee table.
I love it but don’t have a spot for it.  Now it is sitting in my garage and I am not sure what to do with it but I have decided that I love the gray and white color scheme.  And let me just add the paint went on great.  I also love how easily the paint can sand of to give a nice distressed look.  I love love love chalk paint!!!
